Self-destructing messages

A message to read once. Afterwards, it is no longer available.

What they are

Create a short message, generate a link and protect it with a passphrase. Share the link and passphrase separately with the recipient.

The recipient does not need an account or have to install anything.

How they work

  1. Create the message. Write up to 500 characters and, if you wish, add a private label to recognise it in your Space.
  2. Share separately. The link identifies the message; the passphrase opens it. The link alone is not enough.
  3. One read only. The correct passphrase opens the message. The recipient has 20 seconds to read it; afterwards the content is no longer available.

When they may be useful

For a surprise, a note you do not want to leave in a chat or information you want someone to read only once.

It is not a chat or a mailbox, and it does not create a conversation archive.

If it is not read

If nobody opens it, the message expires automatically after 7 days.
